Terms of Service

By using WordAxle (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

WordAxle is a free daily word-guessing puzzle. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We aren't obliged to keep any particular feature or puzzle available.

You don't need an account to play the daily puzzle. If you create one (via Google or email magic link), you're responsible for keeping access to it secure. Let us know through the Contact Support form if you suspect someone else has accessed your account.

When you use WordAxle, you agree not to:

• Cheat, automate gameplay, or use bots or scripts to play
• Scrape puzzles, dictionary data, or other content from the Service
• Interfere with the Service, attempt to exploit it, or probe for vulnerabilities outside of a coordinated disclosure
• Harass other users in share channels, send invitations to people who haven't consented, or use channels to share content unrelated to game results
• Impersonate other players via your display name or otherwise mislead others
• Use the Service for anything illegal

When you share a daily result into a channel, the message text is generated by our server from your saved game data — you can't edit or fabricate it. You're responsible for the channels you create and who you invite. We may remove channels or members that violate these Terms.

The puzzles, branding, design, dictionary, and source code are owned by WordAxle. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to play the game in your browser. You don't get any other rights — you can't copy, republish, or build a competing product using our content.

Your individual guesses aren't protected as your IP, and by guessing you grant us permission to record, evaluate, and aggregate them as needed to run the game.

We can suspend or close your account if you violate these Terms. You can close your own account anytime through the Contact Support form. Sections of these Terms that should reasonably outlive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) survive.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WordAxle and its operators aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
